These particular Sellier and Bellot rounds are meant for your .38 Special. At 158 grain these are moderately heavy for the cartridge size; heavy enough to strike targets with significant force yet light enough to zip down-range at impressive speeds. These are Lead Flat Nose, LFN, rounds, and as such will not expand on impact. In fact, target rounds such as these are prone to over-penetration, making it all the more important to have a solid backstop in place. Each round has a muzzle velocity of 800 feet per second and a muzzle energy of 225 foot-pounds. This ammunition is designed for target practice, self-defense training, and plinking.
